Enterprising Mums was formed by Davina Farrer, a Mum of 2 boys who runs 2 businesses, with the help of a fellow Mum, Jo Keshishian, who felt other networking groups lacked the understanding of juggling running your own business with bringing up a family.
The aim of the group is:
or is a mum who’s at a crossroads in her life and is not wanting to return to full time work or is looking to find a business which will fit around the children and if at school age to fit around the school holidays
- Provide a support group for Mums who will at times struggle with the juggle of business and families and feeding off each other to get us through these times
- Arrange an annual exhibition / recruitment fair to invite other mums to look at our businesses and to see what is available.
We meet once a month on aThursday morning from 9.30am to 11.30am at The Millstream in Hitchin. We provide a structured but informal opportunity to meet other mums, hear about their businesses and have a main speaker.
We meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month, term time only, and our next meeting dates are:

Generally everyone will benefit more if small children are not with us, but there will be occasions when this is unavoidable. If you do need to bring along your little ones, please let me know in advance so we can arrange for one of you with children to look after the children away from the main group, so we can organise a childminder for a small fee.
